A fond farewell to the neighborhood (not)

When I ran Ronan outside this morning, I noticed a bunch of trash in my bicycle basket again. *grumbles*

We had a conversation with our landlord letting him know we are moving out. We are giving him the official letter tomorrow.

Then we went to get in the car to run a few errands when we discovered someone had gotten in and stolen some stuff. Apparently we left it unlocked last night (whoops) and someone walking by discovered that. They stole Carl’s really nice rain jacket, my ancient cell phone which no longer works, the vehicle registration and the insurance card. Lovely. So I just called the police (non-emergency line) to give them the details and got a case number in case the DOL gives us crap about getting a $5 copy of the registration.

It could have been worse…we’ve seen plenty of broken glass on the streets of Capitol Hill and we are thankful no one has ever smashed one of our car windows. When we had the CRX down on Melrose (next to I-5), we usually left it unlocked and had it rifled through multiple times, but never had a broken lock or window.

So tomorrow or Tuesday I need to replace the registration. I just printed out a copy of our insurance card (yay for technology). I will be so happy to move off this hill.
